CHALLENGE

A Middle East refining company required advice and guidance to improve the profitability of their refinery assets at two sites.

SOLUTION

InSite Technical Services dispatched a senior technical consultant to the client’s site within 4 days of the request. InSite’s consultant discussed plant performance and issues with technical and operations personnel. He also visited selected process units to improve his understanding of the plant. Recommendations were delivered verbally before leaving site, and subsequently documented in a report.

OUTCOME

InSite identified a mixture of zero investment, low investment and moderate investment opportunities to:

• Improve jet fuel yield
• Improve energy efficiency
• Reduce sour water production
• Reduce slop make
• Extract value from a redundant process unit
