Moving With The Technological Times

This month we saw InSite moving with the times. Managing Director Jean Martin delivered EEMUA‘s Mechanical Integrity Course through the means of a live webinar. A course aimed at the people responsible on a day-to day basis for ensuring mechanical integrity of plant equipment where there are hazardous substances present. Due to the restrictions on movement and meetings physically, the course was adapted to bring the content to the viewers via Webex, allowing participation by delegates as far afield as Azerbaijan.

Consultancy Director Jake Gotham also leveraged the power of the internet by acting remotely as HAZOP chair from the office in Pembrokeshire for a client in Europe.
For the few of you that might not know a HAZOP is a structured review process to identify hazards and operability problems in process plants. Used for both new designs and for existing plants, this is led by an independent Chairperson and includes an experienced and knowledgeable team as well as a scribe. We have several trained and experienced HAZOP Chairpersons available for projects.
Traditionally, a HAZOP is always conducted with everybody in the same room. In recent years, InSite has developed methods to effectively operate HAZOP by videoconference for some clients in remote locations. This has placed us in a good position to continue to support our clients with their HAZOP needs during this period of travel restrictions and working from home.
