Refinery Relief Study

CHALLENGE

An oil refinery based in the United Kingdom required support in order to complete an in-house relief study on all pressure safety valves relieving to the flare systems.

SOLUTION

InSite Technical Services supplied a team of process engineers to work on site as integrated members of the relief study team, working for and alongside the client personnel.  The personnel were specifically chosen to provide the optimum experience level; a team of graduate and principal engineers.

OUTCOME

• Relief calculation and datasheet template completed in collaboration with the client.
• Additional personnel support supplied in the latter stages to ensure the Relief study was completed on schedule.
• Relief study identified several pressure safety valves that required remediation, captured in the capital budget plan.
• InSite Project Engineering team completed the remediation scope, the continuity of care provided several benefits to the client.
