Terminals
InSite provides engineering solutions for the terminals sector, with expertise in liquid and gas storage facilities. Our engineering expertise covers sites from the jetty, throughout tank farm infrastructure to rail and road loading facilities. We prioritise compliance with international safety standards, environmental regulations, and best industry practices to optimise performance and minimise risks.
Our expertise covers a range of products, including crude oil, refined petroleum, LNG, LPG, ammonia, hydrogen, biofuels, methanol, ethanol and industrial chemicals.
InSite has significant experience of complex brownfield projects. Some examples of our work include:
- LPG Storage and Road Loading Feasibility Study with the goal of re-purposing existing equipment and infrastructure.
- SAF Plant Jetty Facilities pre-FEED and FEED level engineering to facilitate jetty import of ethanol raw material and export of jet kerosene with bi-directional flow. InSite have also supported the HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA within the FEED phase.
- SAF Project Owner’s Engineer for all engineering disciplines across all aspects of the project.
- Upgrade of a Refinery’s Butane Tanks to improve risk reduction. Upgrading the tanks instrumentation to accommodate a SIL 2 Safety Instrument system, meant compliancy to BS EN 61511, closing their LOPA gap and meeting latest standards.
- Crude Import Debottlenecking process engineering package to allow an oil storage terminal to increase jetty import rates and reduce shipping berth times.
- EDC Storage Feasibility Study to assess requirements to enable handling of EDC as a new product, including development of a tie-in scope for existing infrastructure. A +/-50% cost estimate, Level 1 schedule and project risk register were developed as part of this project.
- Major Accident Risk Assessment Facilitation at several international terminal locations for a global terminal operator. This approach allowed for the necessary consistency of applying corporate standards regardless of geography.
- VRU Process Design Verification at a storage and blending terminal.
- Bio-Ethanol Road Stand Design using the existing gasoline road loading system to ensure no impact on the operational road loading stand. InSite completed the feasibility study, FEED and detailed design.
